New England HOGs Meeting
October 28, 2015 @ 1:00 pm - 3:00 pm
We have now scheduled the next meeting of the New England HOGs for Wednesday, October 28, 2015, 1:00 – 3:00 p.m. at the Massachusetts DOT, 2nd Floor Transportation Library, 10 Park Plaza, Boston, MA. This New England HOGs Meeting is being held in conjunction with the October 27-28, 2015 Northeast Regional Peer Exchange (please see Save the Date Notice attached). We hope you will attend the New England HOGs Meeting, and as you may find applicable, all or part of the preceding Peer Exchange Event.
This meeting is important, for it will bring all of us back together to continue our 2015-2016 regional incident management activities. As you know, the New England HOGs group meets to discuss and resolve operational issues affecting agencies whether they be regional, in-state entities, or cross-border jurisdictions within sub-sections of the I-95 Corridor. The New England HOGs group is structured to encompass all traffic operations, maintenance, and incident management and response disciplines, including TMCs and DOTs, Law Enforcement and Public Safety, Fire Departments and EMS, Emergency Management Offices, local/regional operating authorities including toll agencies, and associated entities such as AAA, truckers, and towers. All are most welcomed to attend the meeting! Meetings are unique in that they bring together policy, planning, and management personnel with the “rubber-meets-the-road” incident management and operations personnel, including first responders, TMC Operators, DOT Maintenance personnel, and the like. Understanding the needs of all disciplines is key to effective, efficient, and safe traffic management and incident response.
Attached is the preliminary meeting agenda, and we want to call to your attention a particular item which may be of interest to you — We will be having a brief demo of “tools you can use” – the I-95 Corridor Coalition’s Regional Integrated Transportation Information System (RITIS) and the Collaborative Decision Tool. RITIS is available now for use by each of you, provided by the I-95 Coalition with free access. It is particularly handy when you are working with significant events such severe weather/snowstorms on a regional basis.
For security and headcount purposes, kindly RSVP to Coalition Support Dotty Drinkwater at DottyD@aol.com no later than October 15, 2015.
