ATP-MARP Annual Meeting

On September 24, 2015, the Association for Public Transportation/Massachusetts Association of Railroad Passengers (APT-MARP) will host a Transportation and Economic Development Program moderated by former Massachusetts Governor Michael Dukakis. The program will be held at Northeastern University’s Alumni Center between 6:00 and 9:00 PM.
The panel of highly-regarded Massachusetts public sector leaders includes Secretary of Transportation Stephanie Pollack; Senator Thomas McGee, Co-Chair of Joint Legislative Committee on Transportation; Thomas Cahir, Cape Cod RTA Administrator; and Somerville Mayor Anthony Curtatone. The discussion will be about their efforts and ideas to improve transportation, and its link to economic development.
The panel will discuss topics such as: new infrastructure opportunities through strategic planning and development of brown field sites; transit oriented development; South Station Terminal expansion (SSX); Innovative transportation funding leveraging state, federal, and private sector revenue sources; and the State Legislature’s role in improving public transportation and economic development to keep Massachusetts a desirable place to live and prosper.
